LESSONS FROM READING SOMALI FACES

I don’t know what I have been doing.

How have I just discovered Somali Faces now?-_-

There might be other inspiring Somali pages out there. But, so far this has to be the most inspiring, heartwarming and spirit pleasing Somali representative page that I have ever come across.

Honestly, guys if you are looking for ways to keep motivated and inspired than check out their Instagram and website. You can thank me later. The links are down below.

Truly, Somali faces speaks for itself. But keep on reading to find out exactly why I’ve fallen in love with everything they are doing for our community.

Somali Faces is an online platform that collects the stories of ordinary Somali people from around the world.   It seeks to change and reconstruct the negative image of Somali’s, that have developed in western societies in recent years.

It has created unity, as together with their readers they have raised thousands of pounds to help and support those in dire need.

The best thing about this organisation is that they target all age groups and genders, hence why they are able to connect with so many people.

Here is a list of the things Somali Faces has taught me so far, and 3 top lessons you’ll take away from reading the stories of other ordinary Somali people:

  1. We are not so different after all, regardless of where we are in the world
  2. Together  we are powerful and so much more
  3. Be grateful for what you have and give if you have more than you need
